Hey Blogosphere inhabitants my name is Jamie and I am the October editor for Volcom’s newly spawned art blog Make My Daze. Which aims to make your days of mindless internet trawling a little bit more interesting. A tropical island paradise in a sea of pixelated sameness.

I first suspected my life would take a creative path at an early age when I smeared my first mural on the walls of my house in Singapore as a toddler.

Since then the mediums have changed but the hunger that drives me to create continues to do so. Throughout my school years my books were crammed with sketches and doodles. Not to be confused with sketches of doodles (well maybe a couple,
I was young and curious.) After school I took some time out overseas then went and studied vis com.

After a year of skating, sketching, playing video games and drinking beer I shot through a portfolio to the Volcom beast and scored a gig as a Featured Artist. I designed a tee, which totally flopped but it led to a steady course of in-house freelancing doing all kinds of artwork, odd jobs, coffee runs. Gradually cutting my teeth into sharpened
2B fangs.

So, what to expect on the blog this month? There’s gonna be a bunch of art by myself and other radical artists that have and continue to inspire me. I’m going to put up some rocking music maybe even a couple of sick vids. There’ll be some interesting photos from my recent trip to Tokyo, roller boardriding and much more gang so stay tuned and watch this space!
